United for climate justice - Stop Fossil Subsidies - Chloé Mikolajczak and Laurie Pazienza are among the co-signatories
The open letter calls on the European Union to eliminate fossil fuel subsidies by 2025. It highlights that these subsidies, exceeding 400 billion euros, contradict the EU's climate commitments and exacerbate climate disasters. The signatories call for a clear timetable, methodological guidelines for transparency and binding measures for Member States. They are urging the EU to act to achieve its carbon neutrality targets by 2050 and to reduce emissions.
