Women Wave Project

To shift this narrative, we created the Women Wave Project — a 100% female team of 6 activists and 3 sailors, sailing all the way to COP30 in Brazil.

But this journey is about much more than reaching a destination. By choosing to cross the ocean under sail, we’re creating a symbolic bridge between continents — and sending a strong message about ocean protection, climate justice, and the need to slow down.

This project is led by women — those most affected by climate change — and it’s meant to amplify their voices and visions.

Along the way, our boat will become a space for learning, exchange, and creativity. It will host conversations around inclusive climate solutions, and serve as a platform for video storytelling.

We’ll explore the role of women in the climate fight, question how visible they really are in this space, and connect different movements — from feminism to environmental justice.

Why cop30 ?

COP30 isn’t just another climate conference. It’s happening in Brazil, right in the heart of the Amazon, and it marks 15 years since the Paris Agreement. It’s the perfect moment to connect ecology and feminism, and to highlight the voices of those most impacted by climate change — especially in South America and Indigenous communities.

By sailing instead of flying, we want to slow down, open up deeper conversations, and make climate action more accessible — not just for the elites, but for everyone.

Why ?

1. Promote a strong, mobilizing narrative We want to share a powerful and inspiring story — one that highlights women’s fight for climate justice and helps shift how we relate to the ocean, through a feminist and intersectional lens.

2. Participate in COP30 and influence its narrative By sailing to COP30, we aim to bring fresh perspectives into the space — raising awareness about ocean protection and the role of women, who are often the first impacted by climate change.

3. Amplify underrepresented voices in ocean conservation Our journey centers the voices of those too often left out of the conversation — especially women and Indigenous communities leading the fight for ocean and climate justice.

4. Low-carbon transport Traveling by sailboat is a statement in itself — showing that it’s possible to move differently, and that climate action also means rethinking how we travel.
