Women Wave Project

We have launched the Women Wave Project: an all-female team comprising six activists and four sailors, who will set sail for COP30 in Brazil.

This project goes far beyond a simple journey. By choosing to cross the ocean under sail, we wanted to build a symbolic bridge between continents and send a powerful message about ocean protection, climate justice and the need to slow down.

Led by women — among those most affected by climate change — the Women Wave Project aims to amplify their voices and their visions.

Throughout the journey, our boat will become a space for learning, exchange and creativity. It will host discussions on inclusive climate solutions and serve as a platform for video stories.

We will explore the role of women in the fight against climate change, examine their actual visibility in this field, and connect different movements, from feminism to environmental justice.

**Why cop30 ?**

COP30 isn’t just another climate conference. It’s happening in Brazil, right in the heart of the Amazon, and it marks 15 years since the Paris Agreement. It’s the perfect moment to connect ecology and feminism, and to highlight the voices of those most impacted by climate change — especially in South America and Indigenous communities.

By sailing instead of flying, we want to slow down, open up deeper conversations, and make climate action more accessible — not just for the elites, but for everyone.

Why ?

1. Promote a strong, mobilizing narrative We want to share a powerful and inspiring story — one that highlights women’s fight for climate justice and helps shift how we relate to the ocean, through a feminist and intersectional lens.

2. Participate in COP30 and influence its narrative By sailing to COP30, we aim to bring fresh perspectives into the space — raising awareness about ocean protection and the role of women, who are often the first impacted by climate change.

3. Amplify underrepresented voices in ocean conservation Our journey centers the voices of those too often left out of the conversation — especially women and Indigenous communities leading the fight for ocean and climate justice.

4. Low-carbon transport Traveling by sailboat is a statement in itself — showing that it’s possible to move differently, and that climate action also means rethinking how we travel.
